Free Solar Panel Scheme for 100,000 Consumers in Punjab
In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at alleviating the burden of expensive electricity and promoting sustainable energy, Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has officially launched the “CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme.” This initiative promises free solar panels to 100,000 eligible consumers across the province, with applications now open via SMS or an online portal.

During the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the significance of the scheme, stating, “This initiative is a major relief for the people of Punjab. It will not only reduce the rising electricity costs but also encourage the adoption of eco-friendly energy solutions. Public resources will be used solely for public benefit, and this scheme reflects our commitment to this cause.

Scheme Details
The Provincial Secretary of Energy outlined the project’s key features, explaining that 100,000 solar systems would be installed over the next year. The program is specifically designed for low-consumption users, especially those consuming 200 units or less per month.
Categories of Beneficiaries:
- Consumers using up to 100 units/month:
55,019 users will receive 550-watt solar systems. - Consumers using up to 200 units/month:
These users will be provided with 1,100-watt solar systems free of charge.
